Marilyn DiPucchio (Smith)

Marilyn L. DiPucchio (Smith), age 83 of Hingham passed away after a long illness with her husband by her side on December 6, 2018. Beloved wife and best friend of James L. DiPucchio for 63 years, Marilyn was the only child of the late Madeline and Lorenzo Smith, loving mother of Jay DiPucchio and his wife Mary of Turners Falls, MA, and cherished grandmother of Zora of Newton, MA.

Marilyn was raised in S. Weymouth. She was a graduate of Weymouth High School, held a B.A. Cum Laude from Bridgewater State College and a M.A. Cum Laude from Boston College. Marilyn taught at Brockton High School and Bridgewater State for several years in the late 70’s and early 80’s before retiring from the profession due to health reasons.

Marilyn was devoted to her small family, loved literature, writing, art, gardening, cooking and enjoyed travelling with her husband throughout the United States, Canada, and Western Europe.

Services for Marilyn are in the care of C. C. Shepherd Funeral Service in Weymouth, MA and will be private for Marilyn’s family. A gathering of family and close friends is being planned for later this year to celebrate the life of a bright, wonderful, beautiful, loving wife and mother.
