Carol Connolly, age 79, of Weymouth passed away on December 3, 2018 after a long illness. Carol was raised and educated in S. Boston. She worked as a switchboard operator for the Boston Globe for 25 years and later at Shawmut Bank. Carol was a good friend of Bill Wilson. She married John Connolly in 1985, they enjoyed many trips to the Irish Village down the Cape. Carol has made many wonderful memories with her nieces and nephews over the years.
Carol is survived by her sister Evelyn Hogan “Wimpy” of Weymouth, her nephews Jerry Hogan (Boston Fire Dept. District Chief), his wife Michelle and their children Stephen Hogan, Kaitlin Vieira, and Brianna Hogan (USAF), Billy Hogan (Boston Firefighter), his former wife Donna Hogan and their children Heather Foshey, Matthew Hogan, and Brendan Hogan, Danny Hogan, his wife Beth and their children Abby Hogan, Becky Hogan, Sam Hogan, John Hogan, and Elijah Hogan, Jimmy Hogan and his wife Amy, and Michael Hogan. Carol is also survived by her great-niece Amanda Vieira and Billy Hogan’s Significant other Pauline Eldridge.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Carol on Sunday December 9, 2018 from 3-7pm in the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather Monday morning for a 10am Funeral Service at Community Baptist Church located at 17 Mutton Ln. Weymouth, MA 02189. Interment will immediately follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
