Margaret Frano

Margaret Phyllis Frano (Giovanucci), age 89, of Weymouth passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Margaret, the beloved daughter of Maggie (D’Alesandro) and Penn Giovanucci, was born, raised, and educated in Weymouth. She lived in Braintree for over 25 years where she raised her family.

As a young woman, Margaret was employed by Remick’s Department Store in Quincy. She later received an accounting certificate at Bentley College and worked as a Bookkeeper for Brady Enterprises in Weymouth and Plaza Oldsmobile in Braintree.

Margaret enjoyed the beach, shopping, traveling with friends and family, doing puzzles and reading books. Most of all, Margaret enjoyed and cherished time with her large extended family. She loved her cousins like most love their siblings. She either spent time with or spoke with several of them on a daily basis. She was also blessed with dear and devoted friends who visited her weekly.

Margaret was the loving mother of Lyn Frano and her husband James O’Dea of Weymouth, Mark Frano and his wife Donna of Pembroke, and Steven Frano and his wife Kari of Burleson, Texas. She was the beloved “Nana Peg” of Meaghan, Mackenzie, Michael, Kristen, Scott, Karoline, and Monica. She is also survived by her brother Richard Giovanucci of Humarock and her nieces and nephews Glen, Lisa, Kevin, Leslie, Christopher and Nicole.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Margaret on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 4-8pm at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9am on Tuesday for a Celebration of Life. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth with burial immediately following at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Weymouth.
