Robert W. Bulens, age 93, of East Weymouth passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018. Bob was born in Cambridge then was raised and educated in Medford. He was a retired Electric Motor Repairman and joined the Navy during World War II where he served on the USS Clay. Bob met his wife of 47 years, Dorothy, through friends and they were married in 1951. Soon after, they settled in Weymouth where they have been ever since.
Bob was a past president of the Old Colony Model T Club and loved restoring classic cars most especially a few Model T’s and a 1917 Studebaker. What he also loved was the chasing down of rare parts for cars like the 1901 Pope Waverly he did a full restoration on. Bob also enjoyed roller skating, not uncommon for him to put in upwards of 100 miles a week on the floors at various Roller Skating Rinks.
Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Dorothy Bulens (Sansom). He is survived by his children, Nancy and Joanne Bulens, James Bulens and his wife Donna, and Donald Bulens all of Weymouth, Terry Olson and her husband Leon of Kingston, and Joseph Bulens and his wife Alisa of Norwell. Bob also leaves 6 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and is expecting a great granddaughter.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to Visiting Hours in honor of Bob on Wednesday, July 25 from 4-8 PM in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Service located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth. Friends and Relatives will gather at the Funeral Home on Thursday morning at 11:30 AM to attend a Graveside Service at 12 Noon in the Fairmount Cemetery, 168 Cedar St. E. Weymouth.
