Jane Thorp

Jane Thorp, age 64, of Weymouth passed away at her home on June 13, 2018. Jane was born, raised, and educated in Weymouth. After graduating Weymouth High in 1971 she attended the University of Connecticut then graduated Fisher College. Jane worked for the Law Offices of Esdaile Barrett Jacobs & Mone in Boston for over 30 years as a para-legal. She enjoyed her family and friends, trips to Scotland, reading, and the company of her cats Curly, Annie, Gypsy, and Maude. Jane will be remembered for her compassion, her feistiness and her wit.

Jane was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Frances (Cobb) Thorp. She is the beloved sister of Carol Thorp of Marshfield, the late John “Jack” Thorp, and the sister-in-law of Laura Thorp of IL. Jane is also survived by her nephew David Thorp and his wife Kelli of IL, her best friend Deborah Rexford and her husband Michael of Pembroke, and her goddaughter Emily Church.

By Jane’s own request, there will be no Funeral Services. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated by her family at a late date. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Jane’s love for animals, donations may be made to the cat rescue organization Pookie’s Pals at PO Box 226 Norwell, MA 02061. C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home of South Weymouth has handled cremation arrangements for Jane.
