Robert J. Spellman, age 58, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on April 8, 2018. Bob was born in Boston then was raised and educated in Weymouth. He joined the Marines out of high school and served for 3 years. He was self-employed as a plasterer for 35+ years on job sites all over the South Shore. Bob married his wife, Christine (DeLong), in 1989 before settling in Weymouth where they raised their family together. Bob enjoyed camping, taking care of his home, and his pool but above all else loved spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife Christine Spellman (DeLong) of E. Bridgewater, his loving children; Thomas Spellman of Rockland, his loving children Rachael J. Spellman of Bridgewater, Nicholas J. Spellman of E. Bridgewater and Zachary Spellman of E. Bridgewater, and his cherished granddaughter Lillyana C. Henri. Bob is also survived by his siblings Maureen Ward and her husband Roy, Kathleen Langway, and the late Richard Spellman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Bob on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4-8pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home on Friday morning at 9am for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral Mass in honor of Bob’s life which will be held at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth. Interment will be at a later date in the Bourne National Cemetery.
