Norma A. Cariglia

Norma Ann Cariglia (Peters), 78, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, after a long illness.

Mrs. Cariglia was born In Weymouth on August 8, 1939 to John Patrick Peters and Arabella Mae MacKenzie. She was the youngest of seven children. After raising her family Mrs. Cariglia went back to school to complete an undergraduate degree from University of Massachusetts, Boston; a Masters degree from Brown University, and a PhD from Harvard University, major in Education. She enjoyed spending time with her family, singing, and gardening.

Mrs. Cariglia is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, John R. Cariglia. She is survived by her daughters Paulette Voegele, Linda Nicholson, Laurie Nicholson, and Lia Cariglia, and her stepdaughter Julienne Cariglia; her three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, from 2-4 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 4 PM at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association
