Betty Turner

d. November 4, 2017

Betty M. Turner (Wright), age 77, of Danbury, NH and formerly a longtime Weymouth resident passed away on November 4, 2017. Betty was the fourth child of Robert and Velma (Foley) Wright of Weymouth. Raised and educated in Weymouth, Betty remained in the town to raise her four children. In 1966, Betty married her beloved husband Walter. When Walter passed in 2003, Betty retired from Electroswitch in Weymouth, where she worked for over 20 years, and moved to Danbury, NH to be close to family. Retirement allowed Betty more time to enjoy her favorite activities - reading, bingo, and spending time with her family. Betty was an avid fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots and one of her greatest memories was attending game one of the 2004 World Series at Fenway Park.

Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband of 35 years Walter Turner and her sisters Shirley Contrino, Marjorie Bermingham, and Lorraine Zona. She is survived by her loving children Susan Bucklin and her husband Peter of Danbury, NH, Cindy Ruiter of Ashland, NH, Joni Whitney and her husband Paul of Alexandria, NH, and William Turner and his wife Trish of Abington, MA, her nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her siblings Norman Wright and Dottie Taurasi.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Betty on Tuesday November 7, 2017 from 4-7pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A Funeral Service in honor of Betty’s life will be held in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 7pm.
