Catherine "Pat" O'Brien

Catherine “Pat” O’Brien (Coughlin), age 84, of Weymouth passed away July 11, 2017 surrounded by her beloved family. Pat was born in S. Boston then was raised and educated in Quincy where she met her husband, Dick. Pat and Dick eventually settled in Weymouth after marriage where they started a family together. Pat attended business school at Fisher College in the Back Bay and worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s pharmacy. She is described by her family as a strong woman who loved her family and cherished her beloved grandchildren. Pat enjoyed making her famous desserts, some travel with her husband, and Boston Sports.

Pat is survived by her beloved husband Dick O’Brien of Weymouth, her loving children Maureen O’Brien and her husband Jeff Boyd of Bethany, CT, Kevin O’Brien and his fiancé Pat Counter of Springfield, Sheila O’Brien and her husband James Armstrong of Okemos, MI, and Amy Goffredo and her husband Christopher of Easton. Pat is also survived by her devoted sister Mary-Sheila Holden of Clearwater, FL, and her cherished grandchildren Megan, Matthew, Naomi, and Benjamin.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hour for Pat on Friday July 14, 2017 from 8-9am in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth, MA. A Funeral Mass in honor of Pat’s life will take place at 9:30am in the St. Francis Xavier Church located in Weymouth, MA. Interment will immediately follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth. Donations in memory of Pat may be made to Hope Hospice at 1324 Belmont St #202, Brockton, MA 02301.
