Edith E. Ryder

Edith E (Lynch) Ryder, age 95, of Weymouth passed away on May 30, 2017. She was raised in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School.
Edith was predeceased by her husband Gene Ryder and is survived by her son, C. Robert Lynch and his wife Joyce of Braintree, her daughter Charlotte Jenkins and her husband Wayne of Weymouth and her three grandchildren, Gretchen Langton of Marblehead, Tracy Damore of Hanover and Joshua Jenkins of Weymouth. Edith also leaves four great grandchildren.
Edith worked as a medical secretary for many years and her volunteering endeavors included reading and playing the piano for the blind, volunteering at the Weymouth Teen Center and playing the piano at Bethany Church.
She and her husband, Gene, were well known musicians, playing at numerous events on the South Shore including weddings at the Neighborhood Club in Quincy. Edith also hosted many foreign educators who enjoyed her hospitality at her home.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a celebration of Edith’s life in Bethany Church located at 18 Spear St. in Quincy Sq. on Saturday, June 24 at 11 AM.
