John MacFee

d. May 27, 2017

Robert “John” MacFee, 63, of Plymouth passed away suddenly in his home on Saturday, May 27, 2017 with his bass guitar in hand. John was a dedicated son to the late Robert and Josephine MacFee. He was survived as a cherished brother to Willie & Anita MacFee of Weymouth, Bonnie & Bob Meaney of Weymouth, and Brian & Cathy MacFee of Marshfield; a beloved uncle to Brian & Becca Meaney of Weymouth, Laura MacFee of Quincy, Caiti and Paul Chroniak of Pembroke, Sarah MacFee of Quincy, Alison Meaney & Tom Delaney of Brockton, Will MacFee and Brooke McCarthy of Plymouth, and Pat MacFee of Marshfield. He was great
uncle to his pride and joy, Hailey Jean and soon-to-be baby girl Meaney whom he was so looking forward to meeting. John was especially proud of his step sons Daren and David Connole. He was newly retired as of January from Corcoran Management as a maintenance supervisor and dedicated over 20 years of voluntary services visiting the Bridgewater State Prison as a substance abuse counselor. John spent most weekends performing as the bassist for the Jody Moore Band as well as numerous other local bands of the South Shore. He had a love for fun, a contagious laugh, a smile as big as the ocean, and a passion for music that will live on forever. Anyone that knew John would tell you he had the kindest heart, the most gentle soul, and that he cared about people in a way that will impact many more lives long after his passing. He will be deeply missed and loved eternally.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for John on Friday June 2 from 4-8pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth. A funeral service in honor of John’s life will be held at the Old South Union Congregational Church, 25 Columbian St. S. Weymouth on Saturday, June 3 at 11am.
