Donna Brenner

Donna Louise Brenner (Collins), age 71, of Norwell passed away quietly on March 2, 2017 at Southwood Nursing Center in Norwell, MA. She had been battling a rare form of Parkinson’s.
Donna was born in Richmond, VA on October 13, 1945. After graduating from high school she eventually moved to Quincy, MA to attend Eastern Nazarene College and received her Associates Degree in Secretarial studies. She met her husband to be, Stephen Brenner shortly after arriving at school and they celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary this past August.
Donna worked in a podiatrist’s office for many years and later went to work at Eastern Nazarene College for ten years as a financial aid counselor. She worked several more years at another podiatrist office before retiring.
Donna was a devoted mother to her daughter Jennifer and spent many hours working with her in the early years of her development. She loved to read to her, sew her clothes, and loved being a mom while watching Jennifer grow up. Donna loved life, seldom complained and worshipped her God. She was an avid photographer filling many albums with pictures of family events, vacations, nature scenes, and church activities. She enjoyed keeping track of birthdays as well as anniversaries of friends and family members and always faithfully sending cards. She had interest in scrap booking, home decorating and playing her keyboard. She faithfully attended and supported the South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene. She loved to sing in the choir, helping in the Sunday School office and also prepared meals for those who needed them. Donna will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Donna is survived by her husband Stephen Brenner of Norwell, daughter Jennifer Taylor and her husband Bruce and their son Alex who reside in South Carolina. She is also survived by her brother David Collins and his wife Sandy of Virginia and her sister Nancy Southhall and her husband Archer who also live in Virginia. Donna will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and in-laws who live in primarily the Virginia area.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Donna on Monday March 6, 2017 from 4-8pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. Relatives and friends will gather on Tuesday for a Funeral Service in honor of Donna’s life which will take place at 11am at the South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene located at 385 Ralph Talbot St. Weymouth, MA 02190. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Donna to the National Parkinson’s Foundation at 200 SE 1st St. Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131.
