Robert O. Cole, age 89, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017.
Bob was a mechanic for the Park Department of Boston for 25 years. He was born in Boston, raised in South Boston and lived in Jamaica Plain, Dorchester and Pembroke before moving to Monroe, Maine for 43 years where he enjoyed retirement in the beautiful woods of Maine.
Bob loved wood carving especially carving Santa Clauses and was a very talented model shipbuilder.
Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Jeanne (Erhard) Cole. He is survived by his loving children Anne Marie Barber and her husband Lloyd of Weymouth, Robert John Cole and his wife Mala Conrad of Norton, and John James Cole and his wife Christine of PA, and his brother Marshal Cole and his wife Anne of Falmouth and the late James Cole, and his sister-in-law Norma. Bob is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Anne Marie Holloway and her husband Marc of Norton, and Laura Jeanne Ferretti and her husband Paul of Hull and great grandchildren, Lily, Colin, Faith, and Liam Holloway and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service in Bob’s honor will be celebrated at the Old South Church, 25 Columbian St. S. Weymouth on Saturday, March 4 at 1 PM. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
