Mildred grew up and married the neighborhood delivery boy, on February 4th, 1945. when he, Wilfred John Peters, returned home from serving in the military during WWII. She was the proud mother of Dianne Marie Carter born on April 8th, 1948 and was “heartbroken” when Dianne died of a massive stroke on February 24, 2008. She is survived by her son James, and his wife Paula, two grandsons, Shaun, (his wife Cara), Chad, and her son in law Steve Carter.
At the age of just 3 years old, Mildred learned the art of “Tatting”. She grew up learning how to crochet, and knit, she learned how to play the piano, Mildred also played the piano at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for well over a decade, with her spiritual brothers and sisters gathered for worship. Playing 5 songs a week. She learned cake decorating, worked at Remicks dept. store, in the Gift Wrapping dept. She was a bit of a perfectionist in everything she did. She liked baking, making homemade breads, grapenut custard, and chocolate cake with mocha frosting.
In 1969, Mildred accepted the Watchtower magazines, and, called the number shown, asked for a Bible Study, and was later baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness on Saturday, April 25 1970. She loved Jehovah, the personal name of God as found in the Bible, and the ministry. right down to her last days. And she was confident that, “God is not unrighteous, so as to forget her works.”
