Mary (Docker) Alexander, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016.
Mary was born in England where she completed her education including nursing school. She was a War Bride in England where she met and married her husband, the late Frederick A. Alexander Jr. After Fred was discharged from the Army, they moved to the United States and lived in Quincy then East Weymouth before moving to Rockland where she lived for the last 60 years.
Mary managed the family business, VIP Cleaners in S. Weymouth for 30 years. She was a 60 year member of the Weymouth United Methodist Church where she spent many years teaching Sunday school and was active in their Tuesday coffee hour. She was an avid sports fan especially loving her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sports activities.
She was selfless throughout her whole life and lived for the happiness of her family and many others.
Mary is survived by her children, Edward A. Alexander and his wife Ardeen of Pembroke, Janice L. Campbell and her husband Sandy of Halifax and David C. Alexander and his wife Helen of Rockland. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Mary on Sunday, October 23 from 2-5 PM at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth, MA. Relatives and Friends will gather on Monday at the Halifax Congregational Church, 503 Plymouth St., Halifax at 10:30 AM for a Funeral Service in honor of Mary’s life. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1 PM.
