Richard V. Choate, age 81, of Hanson, a retired program engineer for Gillette, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.
Dick was the beloved husband of the late Harriet (Stott) Choate and is survived by his loving children, Laurence Choate and his wife Nongnuch of Easton, Nancy Brown and her husband Matthew of Marshfield, William Choate and his wife Sandra of Lakeville, Robert Choate and his wife Ieeda Rico of Plymouth and Diane St. Pierre and her husband Scott of Port Orange, FL. He also leaves many cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and his nieces; Rita Zagrodny and Kathleen Guilfoyle and their families. Dick lived for his family and his many close friends.
Richard was born in Dorchester, moved to Weymouth as a child and has lived in Hanson since 1962. He served his country in the Coast Guard during the Korean War before working for the Gillette Company for 31 year, retiring in 1995.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours for Dick on Monday, June 20 from 4-8 PM at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth. A celebration of Dick’s life will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10 AM.
