Alice Claire Farrand (Murch), age 72, of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy passed away on May 13, 2016. Claire was born in Boston then was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain and also Cambridge. She met her beloved husband of over 50 years, Lawrence Farrand, and shortly after got married. Lawrence was a career Marine so for the first twelve years of their marriage they started a family in CT, NC, and then finally Quincy, MA in 1974 where they settled and continued raising a family. Claire was a strong women and mother who loved bingo and family trips to the beach. She will be sorely missed by her family especially her grandchildren of whom Claire was so proud of.
Claire was predeceased by her beloved husband Lawrence Farrand. She was the loving mother of Christine L. Farrand-Lockhart of Weymouth, John M. Farrand of Hull, Paula J. Pitts and her husband Daniel of Quincy, and Moreen Quinlan and her husband Michael of Taunton, and was the Cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Claire was also survived by seven sisters, one brother, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation for Claire on Wednesday May 18, 2016 from 4-6 PM at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A service in honor of Claire’s life will immediately follow the visitation at 6 PM. Claire will be interred with her husband at the Bourne National Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Claire may be made to “Fight Colorectal Cancer” at 1414 Prince Street, Suite 204 Alexandria, VA 22314.
