Paula Lankowski

Paula (Abruzese) Lankowski, age 72, died on May 10 after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family at South Shore Hospital. Paula was born in Quincy, was raised in Weymouth, and graduated from Weymouth High School. Paula enjoyed working with numbers and had a variety of jobs, including Bradlee's Corporate Office, South Shore Country Club, Manager of Weymouth Elks, Weymouth Savings Bank, and Johnny's Foodmaster.

She had a saying when asked, "How are you?" "Just marvelous, how about you?" She loved going to bingo, casinos and her many trips to Las Vegas. She was a member of Rockland golf course, and Little Harbor in Wareham, where she got a hole in one.

Paula is survived by her lifetime partner of 28 years, Robert Charleton. She was a loving mother to Kris McGovern and her husband Bill and Michael Lankowski and his wife Katie. Loving sister of Dottie Martel and her late husband Paul Martel, Louis Abruzese Jr. and his wife Kathy, Anthony Abruzese and his spouse Miles Freedman, Marylou Abruzese, Rick Linehan and his wife Lynn, David Linehan, and Ann-Marie Martin and her husband Gregory. She is survived by her aunt, Marie Keegan and step-mother, Beverly Abruzese and grandchildren, Maddie and Sean McGovern, Julianna, Allyson, and Miranda Lankowski and great-grandson Jackson Rhoden as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday May 17 from 3-6p.m. at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbia Square) South Weymouth. A service in honor of Paula's life will be held immediately following the visitation at 6p.m.
