Joan Stoddard

Joan Stoddard (Green), age 79 of Weymouth passed away on Saturday April 23, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born, raised, and educated in Boston where she met her husband of 58 years, Don. They got married and moved to Quincy for a short time where they started a family then bought their first home in Rockland where they resided for about ten years. In 1973 they moved to Weymouth where they have lived for 43 years. Joan enjoyed reading, puzzles, Bingo, and her family trips to the White Mountains area of NH. Most of all, Joan enjoyed her role as a mother and grandmother and was so proud of her entire family.
Joan is survived by her beloved husband Donald Stoddard of Weymouth. She is the loving mother of Donna McAndrews and her husband Russell of Weymouth, Theresa Stoddard of Weymouth, James Stoddard and his fiancé Jennifer Staines of Pembroke, and Eric Stoddard and his Wife Sheri of Hanson, MA. Cherished grandmother to Michael, Jonathan, Ashley, Nicholas, Jacob, Kylie, and Christopher. Great-grandmother to Nathaniel. Joan is also survived by her brother James Green of Dorchester.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Joan on Wednesday April 27, 2016 from 4-8PM in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10AM on Thursday for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral Mass in honor of Joan at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Weymouth at 11AM. Burial will immediately follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 480 Pleasant St, Watertown, MA 02472.
