Angelos Lappas, age 60, passed away suddenly with his family by his side on April 3, 2016. Angelos was born in Krendi, Greece and came to the U.S. in 1984. He returned to Greece a few years later when he met his wife Olga. They got married there and moved to the U.S. together in 1987 and then started their family. Angelo learned the dry cleaning business from family and was able to buy Master Cleaners in E. Weymouth and then operate it for almost 20 years. He also was very active with St. Catherine’s Greek Church in Braintree. Angelos enjoyed hosting family barbeques especially cooking for everyone on the grill, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family of whom he was so proud.
Angelos is survived by his beloved wife of over 30 years Olga Lappas (Giannopoulos) of Weymouth, his cherished sons Demetrios and George Lappas of Weymouth, and his brother John Lappas with his wife Despina of Plymouth.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Angelos on Tuesday April 5, 2016 from 4-8 PM at St. Catherine’s Greek Church located at 119 Common St. in Braintree, MA 02184. Relatives and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass at St. Catherine’s Church on Wednesday April 6th, where the service will begin at 10AM. Burial will immediately follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Angelos to St. Catherine’s Church. Funeral arrangements for Angelos are in the care of C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home in Weymouth, MA. If you would like to leave a message for the family please click on the candle.
