Robert Barnes, age 80, of Weymouth passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on March 3, 2016. Bobby was born, raised and educated here in Weymouth. After graduating Weymouth Schools he bought his family home in S. Weymouth and started his own Carpentry Business that he loved and worked hard at for over 50 years. Bobby loved vacationing at his home on Prince Edward Island that he built on family land with his wife Cheryl and family. Bobby loved all animals, especially his german shepherds. He also loved white water rafting, gardening and spending time outdoors, the Red Sox and spending time with his family while enjoying retirement.

Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Cheryl Barnes (Rupprecht) of Weymouth, his loving children Jon Alec Barnes and his wife Julie of Weymouth, Anna Barnes and her fiancé Steve Twiraga of Norwood, Robert Barnes of Braintree, Robin Barnes of Lake Tahoe, CA, Tyler Barnes of Charleston, SC, and the late Thomas Barnes. Bobby is also survived by his loving sister Luella Barnes and his cherished four grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Bobby on Sunday March 6, 2016 from 2-6PM in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth. Relatives and friends will gather at Old South Union Congregational Church located at 25 Columbian St. in S. Weymouth on Monday March 7 at 10:30AM for a funeral service in honor of Bob. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. If you would like to leave a message for the family please click on the candle.
