Nancy Biciocchi, age 89, of South Weymouth. Passed away Monday at South Shore Hospital. A cashier of 40 years Mrs. Biciocchi started in 1966 in East Weymouth formally Angelo’s & Purity Supreme and retired from Stop & Shop at the age of 80. Mrs. Biciocchi was an active member of the Weymouth community. She enjoyed many activities including being a longtime member of the Weymouth Garden Club. She would often go with friends to maintain the islands around town with fresh flowers and plantings. She also enjoyed being a member of the Weymouth Senior Citizens Recreation Club where she enjoyed a game of weekly polka with her friends and social events at the club. She was an active Avon lady for 40 years, even selling Avon products out of the rehabilitation center that she resided in at the end of her life.
Mrs. Biciocchi was born in Somerville and attended Somerville High School. She is the daughter of the late Maria and Salvatore Ciccariello and sister of the late Salvatore Ciccariello. Mrs. Biciocchi met her late husband Carlo A. Biciocchi through a mutual friend and they were married for 47 years. In the earlier years they often went to the Totem Pole, Moseley’s on the Charles and other dance halls to jitterbug and listen to the music of Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey.
Mrs. Biciocchi enjoyed many trips and visited Aruba, the Catskills, Las Vegas, Atlantic City and the casinos in Connecticut. She enjoyed playing the polka machines and Bingo and would often come home with a few dollars if she was lucky. In earlier years Mrs. Biciocchi enjoyed helping with the St. Francis Bazaar and was a parishioner at St. Francis Xavier Church. Cooking was an all-time favorite of Nancy’s, along with gardening. She always kept herself active whether it was taking the ride to the plaza or going out weekly to lunch or dinner with her family.
Mrs. Biciocchi moved to Weymouth 50 years ago. She is survived by three daughters Carol Gerbrands and her husband Jack of South Weymouth, Debbie Eaton and her husband Paul of Plymouth and Janet O’Melia and her husband Michael of Pembroke. A sister Josephine Ciccariello of Brookline, and a brother Pasqualle Ciccariello of Maine. She has 6 grandchildren, Dawn Gerbrands-Almeida, Denise Gerbrands-Duggan, Andrea Liddell, Michael Eaton, Taylor and Nicholas O’Melia. Also 3 great grandchildren, Sophie and Garrett Liddell, and Bella Duggan.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Nancy on Sunday December 6, 2015 from 2-6pm at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home for a service honoring Nancy’s life on Monday December 7th at 10am. Internment will immediately follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
