Theresa M. Sweeney (Rose), age 82, of N. Quincy and formerly of Dorchester, passed away on November 8th, 2015 in Boston surrounded by her loving children. Theresa was born, raised, and educated in Smooth Cove, Newfoundland, Canada with her eleven sisters and one brother. In 1962 she came into the United States and settled in Dorchester for 13 years where she began raising her family. She soon met her beloved husband of 22 years, Kenneth Sweeney, and they moved to N. Quincy where they continued to raise their family. Theresa loved to be social, taking any chance to talk to a neighbor, participate in a meat raffle or bingo, and spend time with her family.

Theresa was predeceased by her beloved husband Kenneth Sweeney in 1990. She is survived by her loving children Nora Kelly of Scituate, John P. Kelly of Hanover, Rita Kelly-Parsley of Hingham, Theresa Kelly of Worcester, and Kenneth W. Sweeney of Pembroke with his wife Terri. Theresa is also survived by her three sisters in Newfoundland, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Theresa on Tuesday November 17, 2015 from 4-8 PM at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth. Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home the morning of Wednesday November 18th for a funeral service at 11AM. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in memory of Theresa may be made to American Veterans (AMVETS) at 4647 Forbes Blvd. Lanham, MD 20706. If you would like to leave a message for the family please click on the candle.
