Robert “Bob” John Powers died suddenly October 3, 2015 in Barefoot Bay FL. He was the son of the late Francis E. and Grace J. (Houlahan) Powers of S. Weymouth and Harwich Port, MA and brother of the late William Francis Powers.
Robert was born in S. Weymouth, MA on July 6, 1960 the fifth of six children. Robert loved Cape Cod, he summered in Harwich Port where he worked at Thompson’s Clam Bar and played golf.
Robert graduated from Northeastern University in 1983 with a B.S. in business. He developed a passion and talent for the Advertising Industry, which led him to begin a career as Advertising Manager for New England Sports Magazine in Boston. He also was a sales representative for the Patriot Ledger in Quincy. Robert had a successful 25 year career at Nynex (AKA SuperMedia, Idearc Media, Verizon, Bell Atlantic) in Portsmouth, NH. Robert also was a member of Communications Workers of America Union and the Screen Actors Guild.
Robert Settled in Portsmouth, NH, where he was a member of the Cochecho Country Club. He was an avid flyer and earned a private pilot license, out of Pease Air Force Base
Robert led an active social and political life in Portsmouth, NH. He was blessed with a sharp Irish wit, charm, and the gift of gab. With these gifts he worked on several political campaigns including; NH governor Jeanne Shaheen and Vice President Al Gore. Tipper Gore affectionately referred to him as “Blue Eyes”. Through these and other political causes he was able to meet former President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and President Obama.

Powers of Pompano Beach, FL. Beloved Uncle of Michael and Marie Feehan of Falmouth, MA, Kerryn Feehan of Brooklyn, NY, Colleen Feehan of Brighton, MA, Timothy Gould of Brooklyn, NY, Christopher Gould of Gardner, MA, Scott and Maddalena Powers of Londonderry, NH, and Emily Powers of Londonderry, NH. Great Uncle of Baxter William and Andi Grace Feehan of Falmouth, MA.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours for Bob on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 4-7pm at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.)
