Clarence W. “Mac” MacDonald passed away peacefully on September 25, 2015. Mac was born and raised in Newton. He met his wife of 40 years, Mary Maude Sanderson, in Boston at a dance after his six years in the Navy during WWII where Mac became a Purple Heart Recipient. Soon after they got married and started a family in Quincy, moved to Dorchester, and eventually settled in Natick where they continued raising their family. Mac loved spending time with his family at the family camp in Sandwich.

Mac was predeceased by his wife, Mary Maude “Maudie” MacDonald (Sanderson), in 1993. He is survived by his loving children Martin MacDonald and his wife Patricia of Sandwich, Marilyn Wilbur and her husband Donald of Mashpee, and Scott MacDonald and his wife Kim of Dracut. He was the cherished grandfather of Julie, Cory, Greg, Chris, and Mike and the great-grandfather of Syndney Grace. Mac is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hour for Mac on October 17th, 2015 from 10-11am at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11am in the funeral home, followed by Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth. Donations in memory of Mac may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284. If you would like to leave a message for the family please click on the candle.
