Joseph Cugini, Age 89, of Weymouth, passed away on September 9, 2015. Joe was born, raised, and educated in Quincy. He met his wife of over 65 years, Betty, while attending First Baptist Church in Weymouth Landing in the 1940’s. After getting married they settled in Weymouth to start a family, and they remained in Weymouth from then on. Joe retired after teaching high school for 21 years in Brockton and loved every day of it. He was always looking for an opportunity to get involved in Weymouth as a community, devoting much of his time to the Masons, Wessagussett Chapter of Rainbow Girls, various Weymouth committees, and was a very active member of the Community Baptist Church in E. Weymouth. Joe enjoyed his summers on Peter’s Pond in Sandwich but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family whom he loved very much.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth M. (Roberts) Cugini. Loving father to Lynn Bulva and her partner Donald Baird of Ashby, Daryl Cugini and his wife Janice of Marshfield, Donald Cugini and his partner Maria Berman of Sandwich, Glenn Cugini and his wife Katherine of Marshfield, the late Joyce McGhee and Joe’s son-in-law Edward McGhee of Boston. Cherished grandfather to Amanda, Sara, Andrew, Michelle, Ashlee, Danielle, Nicholas, Joseph, Daniel, and Megan. Joe is also survived by two great-grandchildren Collan and Kyle.
