Gerald Burke

Gerald "Jerry" Burke of South Weymouth passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on August 27, 2015. Born and raised in Dorchester, he attended Boston Public Schools. Jerry proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for Signal Delivery Service for 30 years retiring in 1990. Mr. Burke was a lifelong member of the Weymouth Elks and DAV. He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, and The American Legion. Jerry was an avid golfer and member of the Elks Golf League. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Adrianne (Theodore) Burke, his loving children Christine Lane of Surfside Beach, SC and Michelle McHugh and her husband Thomas McHugh of Woodstock, GA. He was a loving Papa to his cherished grandchildren Adrianne Lane, Sydney and Audrey McHugh. Brother of Robert Burke of Brockton, Margaret George of Everett, and the late Edward Burke of Randolph. Also survived by his extended family and many friends.

Visiting hours at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St., S. Weymouth on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 4-8 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church 236 Pleasant St., S. Weymouth on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment Fairmount Cemetery.
