Roy V. Nelson Jr.

Roy Victor Nelson Jr., age 88, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 6, 2015. Roy was the husband of the late Dorothy (Ericson) Nelson and is the devoted father of Stephen Nelson and his companion, Isabel Olson of Rockland, Douglas Nelson and his wife Vicki of Indian Hills, CO, Brian Nelson and his wife Mary of Rockland, Judith Pinkava and her husband Chris of Fleming Isle, FL and Laurel Ericson and her husband David of South Plymouth. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Roy was born and lived in Weymouth for 64 years before moving to Plymouth in 1990.
He was a second generation builder and developer of Roy V. Nelson and Sons Contracting Company until he retired in 1990.
Roy served his country in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Viking Club and the Weymouth United Lodge of Masons.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Sunday August 9 from 4 to 7 PM. Relatives and friends will gather in the Funeral Home on Monday August 10 at 10 AM for a Funeral Service. Interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Weymouth.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Roy’s memory to the Salvation Army, 25 Shawmut Rd., Canton, MA 02021.
