Henry P. Lanahan, age 82, of Weymouth passed away peacefully on June 29, 2015. Henry was born in Arlington then moved to Weymouth at the age of ten where he resided for the rest of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and, upon his return, met his wife RoseMarie. Henry and Rose got married in 1954 and started a family. Henry worked for his family business, North Weymouth Cab, and took over ownership when his father passed away. He was a member of the Braintree Yacht Club for 27 years and loved boating with his family especially trips to Gloucester, Cape Cod, and Martha’s Vineyard in his boat. He also loved travelling, some notable destinations were Ireland, England, and many trips to Barbados.
Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years RoseMarie Lanahan (McGilloway), his loving children Michael E. Lanahan of Weymouth, Thomas P. Lanahan and his wife Jean of Sagamore Beach, and Susan M. Lanahan of Weymouth, His loving sister Rose Walling, and his cherished grandchildren Jessica, Kathleen, Tara, Michael, Elizabeth, and Jacquelyn.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Henry on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 4-8PM at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth, MA 02190. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home on Thursday July 2 at 9 AM for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Jerome’s Church, North Weymouth. Interment will immediately follow in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth. If you would like to leave a message for the family please click the candle.
