James K. Curtin Jr., age 71, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday June 3, 2015. Jim was born, raised, and educated in Weymouth. Jim served his country as a United State Marine during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed working for International Paper for 25 years and in his retirement he volunteered part time at Presidents Golf Course in Quincy. Jim enjoyed every day to its full potential and enriched the lives of people around him. Jim loved coaching Weymouth Youth Hockey and lived for spending time with his cherished grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife Mary E. Curtin (Morris) of Weymouth, his loving children James K. Curtin III and his wife Pam of Weymouth, Heather Alynne Persson and her husband Eric of East Bridgewater, and Jennifer Anne Curtin of Weymouth, Cherished grandfather to Grace Elizabeth, Jacob Robert, Christopher James, James Knox IV, Victoria Rose, and Ryan Andrew, devoted brother to Gary W. Curtin and his wife Anna of FL, Uncle to Melanie Anne and Christopher David Curtin and his nieces, Kirsten Grace, Chelsea Helene and Megan Anne Wilberg.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, June 7th from 2-6pm at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq. S. Weymouth), MA 02190. A celebration of life will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 8th at 8:30 AM prior to the Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church at 9:30 am in South Weymouth. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery also in South Weymouth. If you would like to leave a message for the family please click on the candle.
