Dorothy “Dotty” Desmond-Farrar, age 87, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on April 20th, 2015 while in the company of her children. Dorothy was born, raised, and educated here in Weymouth where she met her husband of many years, Timothy Desmond. When Tim got back from serving in WWII he and Dorothy got married, settled in S. Weymouth, then eventually E. Weymouth to raise their family. Dotty worked for many years at what is now South Shore Bank in Loan Management. Dorothy stayed involved with Catholic Women’s Club and the South Weymouth Old Colony Club for many years. She will be missed for being a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and an all-around selfless person who enriched the lives of those who knew her.
Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Timothy Desmond in 1986 and also Vernon Farrar. Dorothy is survived by her loving children David M Desmond and his wife Lore of CA and Annemarie Musgrove and her husband Gary of Abington. Cherished grandmother to Leanne Pacheco, Timothy Musgrove, Erik Schade, and Nicholas Schade. Great-grandmother to Parker and Logan Pacheco and Adilene Schade. Dorothy is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Dorothy on Thursday, April 23 from 4-8PM at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant Street (Columbian Square S. Weymouth) Weymouth, MA 02190. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home Friday for a service at 10AM, burial will immediately follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
