Philip David Barber, 76, a lifelong Weymouth resident, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on March 4, 2015. Phil met Vonnie, his wife of over 50 years, while visiting Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy. Three months later he proposed, and a year later they were married. Phil and Vonnie settled here in S. Weymouth where they raised their family. He worked as a carpenter and a builder his whole life. Phil was active at the South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene and went on many Mission trips around the world with the church to places such as Russia, Belize, and Africa. He also enjoyed beekeeping and amateur radio, his call sign being K1NFZ. Most of all, Phil enjoyed spending time with his family.

Phil is survived by his beloved wife Vonnie Barber (Sites) of Weymouth, his loving children John Barber and his wife Sheila of Weymouth, Jessica Mulready and her husband Stephen of Weymouth, and Daniel Barber and his wife Ann-Marie of Wareham, his cherished five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Phil is also survived by his devoted six brothers, one sister, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Phil from 2-6 PM on Sunday March 8th at C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Square) S. Weymouth. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday March 9th at 12 PM at the South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene at 385 Ralph Talbot Street in South Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phil’s memory may be made to Foreign Missionary Travel South Weymouth Church of The Nazarene 385 Talbot Street South Weymouth, MA 02190.
