Barbara Mae Brenner, age 93 passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1st 2015, at Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center after a bout with pneumonia.
Barbara (Stetson) Brenner was born in Turner Maine on December 14, 1921. After graduating from high school she attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts. She married while in college and later moved to Long Island, New York and spent many years working in Nursery schools in her church and town. Barbara was always helping others where ever she lived. She moved to Norwell Gardens for seniors in Massachusetts about twenty years ago and just recently moved to Southwood Nursing Center. She enjoyed watching nature and marveled at God’s handiwork. She faithfully attended and supported the Church of the Nazarene throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Barbara is survived by three sons and spouses: Stephen and Donna Brenner of Norwell, Gerry and Diane Brenner of Long Island, N.Y. and Robert Brenner of New Jersey. There are two granddaughters: Jennifer and her husband Bruce Taylor of South Carolina and Robyn and her husband Steve McColligan of Virginia. There are three grandchildren: Nathanial, Alex and Nikki. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Cousins living in North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene at 385 Ralph Talbot Street, South Weymouth on Thursday ,February 5th at 7PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org/donate.
