Martha Lillian Meilun (Baron), age 87, a resident of Weymouth for over 57 years, passed away January 24, 2015. Martha was born in Hudson, MA, then raised and educated in Brockton. She met her husband, Edwin in August 1948 and less than a year later while on Cape Cod, Edwin and Martha were engaged. They eloped to Buffalo, NY, got married, and began raising a family. After a few years they moved to South Weymouth where they lived for the rest of their 65 years of marriage. Martha and Edwin loved to travel, especially to Hawaii. When Edwin had a business assignment in Japan, Martha and the children went with him to Tokyo for almost a year. Martha was a gourmet cook and completed a course in Chinese cuisine while in Japan. She was an avid reader of everything from mysteries to recipes. She was talented in sewing and made many of her own clothes and also many prom dresses.Martha and Edwin also were avid boaters and their togetherness in all things was evident throughout their entire married life.
Martha is survived by her beloved husband Edwin Meilun of Weymouth. Loving mother to Nancy Miller of Plymouth and Clifford Meilun and his wife Deborah of N. Kingstown, RI. She was the cherished grandmother to Abbryann Tevnan, Adrien Benevides, Kimberly Meilun, and Rachel Meilen.
