Carole A. (Patch) Gregor, of South Weymouth age 81, passed away at the Beth Israel Hospital on Friday, November 28, 2014. Carole is survived by her husband of 55 years, Douglas M. Gregor, her sons, Bryan D. Gregor and his wife Brenda of Pembroke and Philip D. Gregor and his wife Sally of Warwick, NY and her brothers, R. David Patch and his wife Connie of Northborough, MA and Paul R. Patch and his wife Emilia of Lansdowne, VA. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carole was born and resided in Quincy until moving to Weymouth in 1961. She graduated from Thayer Academy in 1950 and the Katherine Gibbs School before becoming an Executive Secretary for Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Quincy.
She enjoyed baking, cooking and knitting, and when her family was growing up, camping and hiking throughout New England. Carole was active in the Cub Scouts and did volunteer work at South Shore Hospital. She was a member of the Old South Union Church and the church’s J.O.Y. Club.
Carole’s family is very grateful for the care given to her by the staff of the Alliance Health Care Center.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian St. S. Weymouth on Wednesday, December 3 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Tuesday, December 2 from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Carole’s memory to the Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian St. Weymouth, MA 02190 or the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472. www.alz.org/MANH.
