Stephen Roy Johnson, of Plymouth, age 54, passed away suddenly Thursday, November 20, 2014. Steve was a 1978 graduate of Weymouth Vocational Technical High School, a loyal member of the Plymouth Moose Lodge 2485 and MMOB (Massachusetts Moose on Bikes).
He was an independent truck driver with Reliable Truss and National Lumber. Steve enjoyed working, riding motorcycles and camping. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality and opinions, and also for his generous spirit and love for his family and his animals.
Steve is survived by his wife, Diana, his mother Dorothy Johnson of Weymouth, his brothers Mark and wife Sarah of Charleston, Illinois, Scott of Fairfax, VA, his sister Donna Knight and husband Jack of Orlando, FL, his nephew MSGT Charles and wife Lauren Gross of Dover, NJ. His in-laws, Max and Jess Sewell of Peterborough, NH and their son Bennett, Karen Mafera of Weymouth and her children, Stacy, Miranda, Jaclyn and Zach, Greg and Joanne Sewell of Weymouth and his children Jenny, Heather and Amy, Tamara Sewell of NYC and Joe and Cindy Dionne of Tremont, ME and their son Nathan, as well as many other relatives and friends. He is predeceased in death by his father, Roy and his sister Kathleen.
Visiting will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Monday, December 8 from 10 to 11 AM immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Steve’s name to the American Diabetes Foundation, information at www.diabetes.org/donate or to The Sammy Fund ? Acadia Veterinary Clinic, 21 Federal St. Bar Harbor, ME 04609. The Sammy Fund was started by Steve’s Mother In Law, Ann Dionne, and provides financial assistance for emergency care at the Acadia Veterinary Clinic.
