John A. Comeau of South Weymouth, age 73, died at home on Thursday, September 4th after a brave fight against cancer.
John was a loving husband, supportive father, and adoring Pappy. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 49 years, Connie (Richardson); his daughters and sons-in-law, Kristin & Scott McLaughlin, Nicole Comeau, and Monica & Mike Kennedy; his grandchildren, Patrick, Sean, and Annie Kennedy, and Élodie and Delphine McLaughlin; and his sisters, Mary Elizabeth Trotter and Jeanne Ekasala.
John grew up in Braintree, enjoyed playing hockey, and was a retired Massachusetts Environmental Police Sergeant, a job he loved. An avid outdoorsman, he was happiest with his family, in particular his grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Thursday, September 11 from 4 to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Albert the Great Church, 1140 Washington St. Weymouth on Friday September 12 at 9:30 AM. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:45 PM.
John's preference was that, in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory be made to a cause he strongly believed in and supported, the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
