Gertrude Niemiec

Gertrude (Schuebeck) Niemiec, age 84, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Thursday, July 31, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Niemiec and is survived by her 3 children, George Niemiec of Easton, Patricia Otis of Weymouth and Catherine Ortega of Whitman. Gertrude also leaves behind her 3 sisters, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 nieces.
She was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany, moved to the United States in 1955, lived in Dorchester and Brockton before settling in Whitman MA. Gert was a cook for many years and in her spare time she loved to bake and decorate cakes.
