John P. Braccia

John P. Braccia, age 66, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from complications with ALS, a disease he refused to let define his life. John is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Linda, his brother, Rick and his wife Helen of Marshfield, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joanne and Dennis Keefe of Pembroke, his stepchildren, Sean and his wife Tiffini Coveney of VA, Kerrie Henrickson of Rockland, Tammi and her husband, Jeff Silvia of Somerset and his “adopted” daughter, Kim and her husband, Jim Cyr of Norwell. He also loved his beloved grandchildren, Jeffrey, Janey, Quinn, Myra, Kyle and Christian and his best friend Sam.
After completing his military service, John achieved his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English and taught for several years before returning to the “family business” of Construction, finishing his career as a Senior Project Safety Manager with Gilbane Building Company.
John died secure with his faith and grateful for the love and support of family, friends and co-workers.
The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Tuesday June 17 at 8 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at the Holy Family Church, 403 Union St. Rockland at 9 AM. Visiting Hours will be on Monday from 4 to 8 PM.
