Samuel A. Walkama Jr., age 90, passed away at the Quincy Medical Center on Sunday April 13, 2014. Sam was the husband of the late Ruth M. (Huovinen) Walkama and is survived by his children, Maria E. Clark and her husband Stanley of Billerica, Stephen S. Walkama and his wife Marcia of Brockton and Mark A. Walkama and his wife Bethany of Rockland. He also leaves his grandchildren, Patricia Clark, Richard Clark, Christian Walkama and Meghan Walkama, 2 great grandchildren 7 nieces and 3 nephews.
Samuel was born and grew up in Brookline, graduated from Brookline High School and has lived in Weymouth for the last 45 years.
He was an Auto body Teacher at the South Shore Vocational in Hanover for 24 years and He served his country in the Seabees during World War II.
Sam belonged to several Music Groups including the Braintree Choral Society, the Fine Arts Chorale and the Harbour Choral Society.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Old South Union Congregational Church, 25 Columbian St. S. Weymouth on Tuesday April 22 at 1 PM.
