Ruth Bobzin

Ruth (Jackson) Bobzin, age 85, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014. She was survived by her husband of 67 years, George E. Bobzin, and her children, Bruce Bobzin of Weymouth, Douglas Bobzin and his wife Sally of Virginia and Marcia Hicks and her husband William of Halifax. Ruth also leaves her grandchildren, Joseph and Theodore Hicks.
Ruth was born in West Roxbury and grew up in Quincy before moving to Weymouth 55 years ago. She was a clerk at Filenes in Braintree for 15 years, a Librarian’s Assistant at Weymouth High School for 4 years and a Book Store manager at Thayer Academy in Braintree, for 12 years before retiring in 1991.
Ruth was a past president of the South Shore Council of Campfire Girls, a past president of the Weymouth Garden Club and a very active member of the Holy Nativity Church in Weymouth where she was the past president of their Mary Martha Guild.
Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Wednesday February 5 from 1 to 2 PM immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 2 PM.
