George F. Sargent

George Franklin Sargent, age 85, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on January 16, 2014. George was survived by his wife of 53 years Jean (McCafferty) Sargent, his children, Stephen G. Sargent of Hull, Mary Ellen Palmer and her husband Donald of Abington and Donald P. Sargent of Raynham and his grandsons, Joseph Edward and Andrew Michael Sargent both of Raynham. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. George is predeceased by his sister Evelyn Rexford and his brother Arthur “Bud” Sargent.
George was a lifelong resident of Weymouth and a Weymouth Town Meeting Member for 40 years. He was the owner of the George F. Sargent Electrician Company for 35 years. George served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Weymouth for 50 years.
A Funeral Service will be held at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Monday January 20 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be on Sunday 3 to 7 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist of Weymouth at a later date.
