Francis W. Connorton

Francis W. Connorton, age 86 passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday September 30, 2013. Frank was the husbnd of the late Virginia M. (Coughlin) Connorton and is survived by his 2 children, Thomas M. Rooney and his wife Margaret of Canton and Marianne Rooney England and her husband Christopher of South Weymouth and was the Story Book Grandfather for his 7 grandchildren, his late granddaughter, Melissa Rooney and his10 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son, John F. Rooney.
Francis was born and grew up in South Boston and has lived in Weymouth since 1956. He was a Forman for the New England Telephone Co. where he worked for 30 years.
Frank was a Navy Veteran during World War II and an Army Veteran of the 82nd Airborne during Korea.
Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Thursday October 3 from 9 to 11 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 234 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 11:30 AM. Interment will be in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
