Debra B. (Chor) Canniff, age 60, of Marshfield, formerly from Hull and Weymouth, passed away surrounded by her family and friends on June 12, 2013 after a brave battle with a short illness. She was the beloved mother of Benjamin J. Canniff and his wife Dana L. Canniff of Abington, the devoted Grandmother of Lydia and Evelyn of Abington, the sister of John Chor, Jr. and his wife Carmela of Florida, Candace Barrus and her husband Jon of Pembroke and Lorraine Bennett and her husband Robert of Plymouth. Debra was predeceased by her parents John and June Chor. She was also the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Raised in Weymouth, Debbie was an avid photographer and enjoyed the beach, camping, bird watching and the loyal companionship of her cat, Freaky, who, like her family and friends, remained by her side until her passing. Through the years her artistic ability shined through her ceramics and teaching others the art for many years. She spent the last 12 years as a personal care attendant. She will be missed by her family and friends. Visiting will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Saturday, June 15 from 1 to 2:30 PM immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 2:30 PM.
