Edward A. Daniele

Edward "Ed" Daniele of Middleboro (formerly of Weymouth), passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his home on Sunday April 28 after several months of illness through which he fought courageously. Ed was 86 years old and the beloved husband of his "honey" of 66 years, Margaret "Peg" (Knight) Daniele to whom he married on July 25, 1947.
Ed also leaves behind his son Paul Daniele and his wife Carolyn of Edgartown, MA and Sarasota, FL, his daughter Janet Lewis of Quincy, MA, two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great great grandson and his sister Patricia Baird of Weymouth, MA.
Ed enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and served his country bravely as a Shipfitter Third Class aboard an LCI Troop Carrier in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was awarded several medals for his service.
After his Honorable Discharge in 1946 Ed returned to South Weymouth where he and Peg lived and raised their family. Ed was a man of many talents and worked in several trades with the majority of his work career having been in the oil heat business. Ed never formally retired and worked into his late 70's.
Ed and Peg also lived in Pembroke for a number of years before moving to Oak Point in Middleboro in 2004. Ed was devoted to his sweetie, Peg and to his children. He loved to travel and spent many vacations in Aruba and Florida with his family. When not "puttering" around the house or the yard, he spent many hours woodworking and creating his Christmas crafts which he shared with many people in his life. His computer was always on and he spent hours watching the hummingbirds outside his window as well as watching the Red Sox, Patriots and Nascar.
Ed wished for his passing to be private.
