Claire L. McAuliffe

Claire (Carney) McAuliffe, age 84, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. McAuliffe and was the beloved mother of Kathleen McAuliffe of Weymouth, Cynthia Reardon of Hanson and Christopher McAuliffe of Weymouth. Claire also leaves her grandchildren, Christopher, Branden, Timothy, Thomas and Kyle and 13 great grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Martin and Frances Carney and the sister of the late Charles Carney, Alice Carney and Frances Williams.
Claire was born in South Boston and lived in Roslindale before moving to Weymouth in 1959. She waitressed for Bergson’s Ice Cream at the South Shore Plaza and worked for the South Shore Elder Services until her retirement. Claire enjoyed working in her garden, was an avid reader and loved to draw and paint with water colors. She loved her church and her friends at St. Francis Xavier Parish.
Visiting hours will be at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) South Weymouth on Thursday, May 2 from 8:45 to 9:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, 234 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 10 .M. Burial will be in the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Claire’s memory to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
