Franklin Gerard Bowen Jr., age 84, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 29, 2013. Frank is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan A. (Dunfield) Bowen, his children David Bowen and his wife Maryann of Michigan, Stephen Bowen and his wife Barbara of Pembroke and Douglas Bowen and his wife Julie of Weymouth and his grandchildren, Lauren, Parker, Charles, Neil and Paige.
Franklin was born in Boston, attended North Quincy High School and lived in Weymouth for over 45 years. He was a banker for over 43 years before retiring in 1989.
Frank was a member of the Quincy Masonic Lodge, Boy Scouts of America Old Colony Troop 92, South Shore Joey’s, Lofty Square square dance club, First Baptist Church of Wollaston church choir, Wollaston Glee Club and the American Institute of Banking. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Wollaston, 81 Prospect Ave, Quincy on Wednesday, April 3 at 3 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations ma be made in Frank’s memory to the Dana Farber/ Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center, 101 Columbian St. S. Weymouth, 02190.
