Stephen Mansfield, age 63, of Wells, Maine and South Weymouth died at South Shore Hospital March 20, 2013. Steve is survived his sister Pamela Mansfield of Weymouth. Predeceased son of Joanne and Byron Wood of Weymouth and Kennebunk, Maine. A wonderful and loving aunt, Lois Ellsworth residing in Squantum. Also Candace Golden and Diane Curran both of Squantum, Ma.
Steve was born in Arlington, Ma. He grew up in Weymouth and attended Weymouth schools until he enrolled in a culinary arts program and graduated from Quincy High School with a Culinary Arts Degree in 1968. Steve enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after graduation. Served his country in the Vietnam War, was wounded and returned to the States. Stephen's cousin, 1LT Alan Johnson, US Army, Green Beret-Special Forces was shot and killed in Vietnam. Steve and Alan were much like brothers. They are together once more....
A Memorial service will be held April 13, 2013 at 1PM, in the Chapel at Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian St., S. Weymouth. (Columbian Square) All are welcome.
