William J. Smith

William J. Smith died suddenly March 12, 2013 at South Shore Hospital at the age of 71. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberlee Bowers and her husband David of
Florida and Whitney Eng of Maine and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Harold (Harry) Smith and his wife Barbara of Weymouth and Laurence (Larry) Smith of CA, his sister Allessandra Smith of Weymouth, his niece Laura Milton and her husband Robert of Halifax and his nephew Ben Tenney III of Plymouth.
Bill was the son of the late Harold C.M. Smith & Frances E. (Landrey) Smith. He was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Jan (Sager) Smith and his step daughter Sarah Holden, his sister Doris Dyson and her husband Edward of Plymouth.
Bill attended Weymouth schools and was a graduate of Burdette College. He worked for several accounting and IT firms before retiring to Scituate, MA where he found a new life for himself. He was an avid Photographer and golfer and was often seen with his pals at Strawberry Valley.
Friends and relatives are cordially invited to a memorial service at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St., (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth, MA on Thursday, March 21 from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. A private burial will follow at the Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 220 N. Main St. Suite 104, Natick, MA 01768-1100.
