Albert “Buddy” Collins passed away on Thursday November 1, 2012 at his home after 1 ½ year battle with pancreatic cancer. Buddy is survived by his wife of 31 years, Grace (Dearden) Collins, his 3 sons, Ryan Collins of Rockland and Scott and Matthew Collins both of Weymouth and his grandson, Shane Collins of Rockland. He is the brother of Marie Coady and her husband Bill, Marcia Pratt and her husband Lenny, Kathleen Roque and her husband Tom all of AZ, Keith Collins and his wife Dianne of FL, Frank Collins of RI and Claire White and her husband Steve of Hanover. Buddy also leaves many nieces and nephews. Albert is predeceased by his parents Claire and Francis Collins.
Al was born in Boston, grew up in South Boston and lived in Quincy before moving to Weymouth 19 years ago. He worked for Quincy Public Schools for 25 years. Buddy served his Country in the Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion George R. Bean Post #79 in Weymouth.
The Funeral Service will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Friday November 9 at 9 A.M. followed by the Funeral Mass at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 261 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 10 A.M. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in The Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
